Curious George Goes Camping Book APP review
“I love this app! I’m a big fan of Curious George, but to be honest, the books are dated and the new generations are not as engaged by the illustrations. This app does a great job of leaving the original story and illustrations alone, but adding animations, interactions, and living words to each page to engage children. The book literally comes to life as Curious George runs across the screen. I love the different levels of questions available for parents. Being able to choose the level that best fits your child is a great way for parents to customize the experience. I also love, love, love, that the focus is on the discussion between parent and child during reading. What a great way for parents to extend learning at home….. There are two options for reading the story. A standard Listen version, where children can hear the story read aloud, or a Read and Talk option. The Read and Talk option is one of the best aspects of this app. After the parent and child choose avatars, the story comes on screen. The plot and illustrations are straight from the original storybook. As the parent reads the story aloud, the avatars pop up to encourage discussion between parent and child. With three levels of discussion questions, the app has a place for every child. The discussion prompt pops ups for the parent avatar, with an option for a hint on the child avatar. Questions range from basic detail recall to opinion-based questions where children make connections with the text.” Book App review shared by one of the best APP review sites www.funeducationalapps.com – click here to read the full review !
